Role Description
The Trainer's primary responsibility will be to equip our teams and leadership with the mindset, knowledge, and practical skills necessary for adopting agile methodologies across all teams at Booking.com. This role is crucial in facilitating the training of over 500 teams as part of the broader business transformation and scaling of agility.
Working closely with full-time employees and contract Agile Coaches, Trainers will co-create, improve and co-deliver engaging and interactive sessions to various teams, including Product and Engineering teams, throughout Booking.com.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborate with the internal transformation team and FTEs to align on programme goals, content to be delivered and the continuous improvement of training materials.
Co-deliver training material alongside FTEs and Contract Agile Coaches ensuring a consistent tone of voice and approach throughout.
Deliver training sessions tailored to diverse audiences including Engineering, Product, and non-technical teams and leadership.
Facilitate sessions using a “Back of The Room” mindset that fosters participation, psychological safety, and peer-to-peer learning.
Scale facilitation and interactions with Liberating Structures.
Follow up training with spot coaching opportunities for leadership when need be in collaboration with Organisational Transformation coaches.
Encourage participants to connect with, reflect on and apply learning in their day-to-day roles.
Capable of conducting formative and summative assessments ensuring the trainer is evaluating the effectiveness of learning outcomes and their impact.
Manage training logistics, including attendance tracking and pre/post-training communications, to ensure clear expectations and alignment.
Communication
Cooperates, shares information frequently with Team Leadership groups E.g. Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Senior Engineering Managers and Group Product Managers.
Cooperates and shares information frequently with the Change Lead and the Org Transformation Coaches.
Cooperates daily with: Product, engineering and internal and external Agile Coaches.
Occasional interaction with: External experts and HR / People Team.
Qualifications & Skills
5-8 years of agile coaching (or equivalent experience in Product, Engineering, or Delivery roles); broad job knowledge level.
Proven ability to lead training sessions for various group sizes, adapting techniques as appropriate.
Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging training material that follows a “Training from the Back of the Room” approach.
Proficiency with scaled facilitation techniques such as Liberating Structures.
Demonstrate the ability to assess the uptake of knowledge of participants.
Deep understanding of agile values, principles, practices, framework and methodologies.
Exceptional facilitation, training and stakeholder engagement skills.
Background in Product and Engineering is highly advantageous.
