Change Manager Agile@Booking

The Change Manager is a hands-on specialist responsible for the successful execution and adoption of a centrally-defined change strategy and roadmap for our Agile@Booking initiative. You will serve as the primary change execution partner, collaborating directly with specific department stakeholders, Transformation Coaches, and Senior Agile Coaches to tailor the centralized change approach, ensuring successful adoption and sustained proficiency within their areas. Furthermore, this role is a key member of the central Change Management function within the overall Program Team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Program Leadership and other Change Managers to understand the overarching change strategy, roadmap, and required outcomes.

  • Execute the centrally-defined change management plan within the assigned business unit(s) or department(s), customizing it where necessary for local context while maintaining core program standards.

  • Collaborate with specific department stakeholders (e.g., Department Leads, Team Managers, key users), Transformation Coaches, and Senior Agile Coaches to jointly own and drive the change process, ensuring local applicability and commitment and achieving successful change outcomes.

  • Lead the organizational readiness assessment and manage detailed impact analysis specific to the assigned department, identifying how new Ways of Working (WoW) or delivery models will affect day-to-day operations.

  • Design and implement targeted resistance mitigation plans, communications, and training support in collaboration with department stakeholders to drive user adoption and proficiency.

  • Lead the planning and execution of local change events and kick-offs, ensuring clear communication of the change narrative to all target audiences.

  • Provide expert communications writing and editing support, clarifying messaging for distinct target audiences within the department.

  • Own the tracking and reporting of user adoption, change proficiency metrics, and sustained behavioral change within the department to measure execution success.

  • Transition ownership of the new WoW to the relevant department business owner using established change management methodologies and Booking standards, ensuring change is sustained post-implementation.

  • Provide practical, real-time feedback from the department to the central Program Lead on execution barriers, lessons learned, and recommended adjustments to the core change roadmap.

  • Occasionally assist with operational tasks essential for change execution, such as finalizing team compositions and individual lists to ensure completeness and inclusivity.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in executing a large-scale, cross-functional change management roadmap (e.g., adoption of Agile at Scale, new operating models).

  • Deep skill in translating strategic change topics into practical, phased, and locally-applicable implementation plans.

  • Demonstrated capability to engage, manage, and influence mid-level to senior department stakeholders (e.g., Department Heads, VPs) to secure local alignment and consensus on organizational changes.

  • Expertise in conducting detailed stakeholder analysis, organizational readiness assessments, and designing targeted resistance management strategies.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute internal communication plans, including event management and ensuring a cohesive visual identity/branding for local change activities.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in tailoring narrative and messaging for diverse internal audiences.

  • Strong ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative user adoption data into clear insights that inform targeted interventions and drive successful local implementation.

  • Skill in leading targeted, outcome-focused workshops with department stakeholders to accelerate local decision cycles and co-design adoption tactics.

  • High personal drive and independence to own the change execution within the assigned scope, working proactively without requiring constant direction.

  • Ability to create and deliver concise, persuasive updates and adoption metrics to central Program Leadership.
