The Data and Machine Learning department comprises of the Data & AI governance (DAIG) team and the Data & Machine Learning Platform team (DMLP):


-The DAIG team enables governance (policies, standards, processes and technology) to drive the provision of secure, trusted, accessible data for data driven decision making and compliant data & AI innovation


-The DMLP team builds the platform that facilitates business critical processes and confident data-driven decision making across Booking.com that is feature driven, governed and easy to use.



We are looking for a hands-on change manager who will be responsible for the planning and execution of the DML change plans, in support of our Data and AI work. This person would report into the DML PMO and be expected to own the execution of the change and communications plan.



The Change Manager will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of a change management plan and strategy for various initiatives as well as the following specific areas:


-Creating a case for change / change narrative for various initiatives within the Data and Machine Learning Department to promote leadership alignment and storytelling within the business.


-Identifying and maintaining a stakeholder management plan for various initiatives within the Data and Machine Learning Department to ensure we have an accurate map of all impacted groups for any given initiative.


-Planning and managing the communications plan and cadence for our Data & Machine Learning Platform features, ways of working, new releases etc across all departments, ensuring updates from product, tech, and engineering are all shared in a timely and joined up manner.


Creating and executing a campaign of wider communications cascades across internal channels such as slack and workplace in order to create awareness about the platform


-Knowledge base / training: pivot the current migration program focussed knowledge base and training to a Data & Machine Learning Business As Usual knowledge base targeted towards the various user groups (engineering, data science, product, end users, etc)


Creating and executing an awareness plan and cadence in order to create awareness about the refreshed training and documentation available for our users.

  • Fully understands change impacts, for multiple new and complex audience groups, relating to the full spectrum of changes, including culture, behavior & mindsets, process, technology and tooling, data and policy.


  • Designs and owns highly effective change strategies that drive successful change outcomes.


  • Understands and influences implementation strategy beyond change scope and contributes to end to end execution



Planning & Execution


  • Designs and executes complex change/transformation plans that reach multiple audiences and effectively drive change.


  • Develops and implements new ideas and improvements for change management practices and activities that are tailored to audience needs and improve change outcomes.


  • Identifies KPIs and metrics to track the success of change strategy and plan. Adjusts strategy and plan as a result. Integrates change metrics into Program success criteria / business outcomes where applicable.


  • Partners with project/program management, where needed, by creating clear roadmaps and alignment between activities

B.skilled


  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent


  • 5+ years experience working in complex global change or internal communication programs in a fast-paced, changing environment.


  • For this role, you must have experience working with technical teams in to translate complex requirements into engaging user led content.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with Journalistic skills: interviewing, writing, copy editing, proofreading.


  • Proven experience creating and delivering change and communication strategies


  • Able to run change and communication planning at a strategic/program level.


  • Strong project management skills, ability to run multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively


  • Ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior collaborators, and use those relationships to enable the best possible outcome for Booking.com and employees.


  • Ability to coach leaders and line managers to be effective communicators


  • Ability to distill sophisticated issues/ideas into simple, honest and compelling communication; avoiding jargon and matching language to the needs of colleagues.


  • Strong facilitation skills: face to face and online.


  • Proven success working with internal (social) channels and community management.


  • Understanding of organizational culture: which channels will work most effectively in different environments and why.


  • Detailed understanding of channel monitoring, campaign evaluation, qualitative/quantitative feedback and survey analysis.
