Change Manager (For independent contractors)
Job Summary
A Change Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of tailored change plans to drive successful change adoption for the complex initiatives they manage. Change Managers lead on high scale and impact changes or transformations, and manage increasing complexity, including conflicting priorities, ambiguity, challenging stakeholders, scope changes, difficult and/or slow decision making.
The Change Manager enables Department leadership to lead the change. They are responsible for understanding and managing the impact of changes related to operating models, business processes, culture, behaviors & skills, new ways of working, and technology and data platforms within the department they support. They understand the impact on other departments and create clarity on how these will be managed.
Key Responsibilities
Change Strategy
Fully understands change impacts, for multiple new and complex audience groups, relating to the full spectrum of changes, including culture, behavior & mindsets, process, technology and tooling, data and policy.
Designs and owns highly effective change strategies that drive successful change outcomes.
Gains buy in to change plans and strategy from senior leaders. Acts as a Departmental Change Business Partner to initiative sponsors and owners.
Understands and influences implementation strategy beyond change scope and contributes to end to end execution
Planning & Execution
Designs and executes complex change/transformation plans that reach multiple audiences and effectively drive change.
Develops and implements new ideas and improvements for change management practices and activities that are tailored to audience needs and improve change outcomes.
Identifies KPIs and metrics to track the success of change strategy and plan. Adjusts strategy and plan as a result. Integrates change metrics into Program success criteria / business outcomes where applicable.
Partners with project/program management, where needed, by creating clear roadmaps and alignment between activities
Audience & Engagement
Highly effective communicator who is credible & trusted by senior audiences. Strong facilitator of medium groups (6-15)
Strong influencer in all groups
Effectively adapts style to audience
Influence up to Director level and productively interact with Sr Director and VP level

Creates excellent content by assimilating complex, technical and strategic information and translating it into simple, compelling and clear messages and storylines.
Coaches and enables the change owner to tell an engaging and compelling story that brings others along the change journey.
Coordinates/collaborates with internal communications, (external) designers, other skillset to create engaging content.
Problem Solving
Ability to break up complex problems into actionable and easy to understand solutions.
Provide a transparent and broad perspective and candid feedback.
Escalates risks and issues and owns potential solutions.
Identifies dependencies across multiple initiatives.
