The Content Writer is responsible for producing high volumes of destination and travel-related content for the Booking.com blog.



This role plays an ongoing part in the delivery and performance of Booking.com content. Content may be created manually or with the support of AI tools, with the expectation that the writer applies strong quality assurance, refinement and enrichment to ensure every piece meets a high editorial and accuracy standard.



The successful candidate is highly organised, manages time effectively and is comfortable working to tight deadlines, balancing speed with quality. They write with a pragmatic, business-focused mindset while also bringing the creativity needed to inspire audiences around the world.



The Content Writer is open to feedback, works collaboratively with editors and builds strong working relationships across the content process. Their name and bio will appear on Booking.com alongside the content they contribute to.


This role sits within the Organic department and is focused on consistently delivering the best possible content to stakeholders across the organisation.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Produce high-quality content at scale while maintaining creativity, consistency and business relevance.


  • Develop engaging content tailored to the xx audience, with a focus on xx themes or destination-led storytelling.


  • Create B2C content from detailed briefs, in line with the Booking.com brand tone of voice and style guidelines.


  • Collaborate closely with Editorial and SEO teams on briefs, priorities and content projects.


  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting effectively across different briefs, styles and tones of voice.


  • Flex writing style confidently between variants of English, including British English and American English, or other required market languages.


  • Respond positively and constructively to feedback from editors, peers and stakeholders, using it to strengthen content quality.


  • Research topics, trends and article ideas for both editorial and product-led content.


  • Report clearly on progress, priorities and deliverables.



Knowledge and skills:



  • Proven experience in professional content writing, editing and proofreading, ideally within an e-commerce or B2C environment.


  • Strong knowledge of the travel market and experience creating content for the audience.


  • Demonstrated expertise in travel and destination content, supported by an online portfolio, published work on authoritative websites, or a personal blog with organic visibility.


  • Experience producing content at scale in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistently high standards.


  • A basic understanding of SEO and AEO principles, including keyword research and search-led content creation.


  • Ability to maintain quality and attention to detail across high volumes of work and under tight deadlines.


  • Excellent written English (or other required language), with outstanding spelling, grammar and punctuation.


  • A meticulous approach to content creation, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality assurance and refinement.


  • Proactive and self-sufficient, with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.


  • A confident, collaborative and tactful communicator who builds strong relationships with editors and stakeholders.


(The max payrate for independent contractors is 25 EUR/hr)
