Employee Experience Researcher (For independent contractors)
Please note, this is a 6-month assignment for freelancers, requiring in-office presence twice a week.
In this role you are part of a dynamic and fast-paced People Analytics team within the People department of Booking.com. You will be working in our headquarters in Amsterdam.
The Employee Listening Team is responsible for designing and executing the strategy to ensure that we listen to our employees at moments that matter and that we build our Employee Experience with the employee in mind.
For an exciting project, we’re looking for a UX/Service Design Researcher who will focus on our new ambition to have the best People Technology solutions possible, with a special focus on automation and AI. This role will focus on end-to-end exploration of new and existing ideas, products, processes and technologies for our People Technology teams. Your biggest contribution will be designing and running E2E research programs to explore different user needs, ideation and testing of potential solutions for automation and AI. The goal will be to gather insights into our employees’ and internal user needs and pain points so we can improve their Technology experience.
You will have interaction with senior management, our employee experience team, our subject matter expert teams and work across a number of people teams on a regular basis.
As an Employee Intelligence analyst you will:
Design and execute employee experience insights projects:
Leverage deep understanding of qualitative and partially quantitative methods and design thinking to gather insights into our employees, and to provide thought leadership on improving the People Technology Experience.
Be the employees’ advocate, ensuring their needs are central to design and development decisions and work with cross-functional teams to advise product and service design improvements and inform new product and strategy definition across the People Technology Function, at every stage of design.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure we are gathering quick and iterative feedback on key products and decisions.
Collaboration:
Support stakeholders in transitioning towards employee-centered product development and service design approaches and strategy, alongside our Employee Experience Design Team and other Employee Experience Researchers.
Design and deliver educational resources required to educate stakeholders about user-centered design and service design thinking.
Collaboration with People colleagues and senior leadership to advocate for employees and their needs and to challenge ideas and assumptions empathetically on key HR topics.
Leverage workshops and interactive sessions to truly partner with stakeholders across the entire research and product design process.
Storytelling and data translations to various stakeholders:
Establish and maintain strong credible relationships with multiple Subject Matter Expert Team and senior leadership.
Quickly translate a diverse and complex range of data sources into clear and actionable insights across all elements of the employee experience.
Combine results from internal and external studies into compelling insights to various stakeholders across the People department that inspire action and identify innovative ways to include stakeholders in this process.
Experience (essential)
• 5+ years' research delivery in a consultancy, agency or in-house setting, preferably with experience in HR or with employees as users
• Master degree or higher degree in (organizational) psychology, behavioral sciences, HCI, economics or similar (more experience can substitute for this).
• Knowledge of how to use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods across the product life-cycle, with a strong awareness of their merits and weaknesses.
• Strong knowledge of design thinking, automation and previous experience working with AI
• Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to distill the output of complex and disparate datasets
• Experienced and empathetic communicator and collaborator
• Knowledge of user centered and service design principles and best practices
• Experience running workshops to gather and prioritize projects and make sense of collected insights
• Commercial attitude and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion
