In this role you are part of a dynamic and fast-paced People Analytics team within the People department of Booking.com. You will be working in our headquarters in Amsterdam.


The Employee Listening Team is responsible for designing and executing the strategy to ensure that we listen to our employees at moments that matter. We partner to build and measure an Employee Experience where our people can do their best work together.


We're looking for a dedicated Employee Experience Researcher who will work across a range of topics within the People Space. This role demonstrates critical thinking beyond business requests. They operate independently in all operational research tasks within the People Space (e.g., wellbeing, D&I, performance, and workplace strategy). This role leads core end-to-end research activities - including driving research objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, and communication.


You will have interaction with senior management, our advanced analytics team, our People Center of Excellences and work across a number of people on a regular basis.




Key Responsibilities


Research Skills


  • Judgment & Impact: Shows good judgment when evaluating research opportunities (importance, urgency, impact). Reasonably challenges inbound requests and proposes solid research solutions.


  • Methodological Excellence: Integrates quantitative and qualitative research. Leverages interviews, focus groups and quantitative analysis, and maintains a strong awareness of their merits and weaknesses of each method.


  • Advanced Triangulation: Effectively triangulates findings, methods, and theories. Combines internal data with external secondary research and expert inspection methods.


  • Innovation & Design Thinking: Adopts well-established methods and innovates new ones. Applies Design Thinking and Service Design principles to improve physical spaces and digital processes.


  • Technical Excellence: Must be able to use Tableau, Google Sheets, Miro and apply AI throughout the research process. Familiarity with statistical software (SPSS, R, or Python) and previous experience working with Data Science is a plus.


  • Ethics: Applies strict knowledge of data compliance and ethics in all activities.


Business Impact


  • Informed Decision-Making: Focuses insights on company/BU priority, and strategic investments in the workplace and employee journey.


  • Strategy & Advocacy: Acts as the employee advocate, ensuring their needs are central to design decisions. Provides thought leadership to inform future strategy.


  • Data Translation: Quickly translates a diverse range of complex datasets into actionable insights through engaging visualizations.


Collaboration & Communication


  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Drives collaboration via research insights. Partners closely with Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and People Centers Of Excellences.


  • Stakeholder Management: Manages expectations and prioritizes work with the Research Manager. Exhibits excellence in tailoring communication for Senior Leadership.


  • Education: Designs and delivers resources to educate stakeholders about experience research. Runs workshops to gather requirements and make sense of collected insights.


  • Shared Ownership: Shows a clear commitment to shared ownership and is open to input and feedback.


Experience (desirable):


  • Experience working with less data/research experienced stakeholders.


  • Experience working in HR or people teams.
