Engineering Manager (For temp workers)
As an Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for people leadership, platform health, and delivery outcomes. You will lead the team responsible for building and evolving our integration with SAP S/4HANA (RISE with SAP) as we migrate from our legacy SAP EEC system.
While this is not a day-to-day coding role, you must be technically credible to guide architectural decisions and challenge implementation approaches. You will collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and Risk stakeholders to align the platform with strategic priorities and regulatory obligations, including SOX and GDPR/PII.
We are looking for a proactive leader with strong communication skills.

Directly manage engineers

Ability to get into the technical detail to coach, support and mentor the team
Adhere to the default principles for architecture, quality and non-functional requirements
Drive a culture of ownership and technical excellence, including reactive work such as incident escalations
Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies to be able to share learnings and apply these to a variety of projects when needed
Architecture & Product Strategy
Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape roadmaps, priorities, and delivery plans.
Build new products, processes and operational plans
Negotiate on the strategic importance of own product roadmap features
Drive innovation in the team
Own the architecture across the team
Role Qualifications and Requirements
2+ years of formal engineering management experience.
10+ years of relevant experience in backend software development.
Proven experience modernizing legacy systems and leading major replatforming or migration efforts.
Strong communication skills and experience managing complex people issues.
Experience with AWS, cloud computing fundamentals, and highly regulated systems (SOX/GDPR) is highly advantageous.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Strong people management skills and experience dealing with complex people issues.
Proven experience modernizing legacy systems and leading major replatforming or migration efforts.
Demonstrated ownership of critical production systems, including technical debt reduction and documentation.
Experience working with systems under SOX, GDPR/PII and/or DMA is an advantage.
Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals and experience with AWS is an advantage.
