Finance Operations Specialist (For Contingent Workers)
The Finance Operations Specialist supports the daily operational tasks and projects/new initiatives specific to their Finance Operations team specialty.
Key Responsibilities
The Legal Collections Specialist (the Finance Operations Specialist )focuses on providing operational support to Collecting Agencies and Credit Control.
This role is primarily responsible for managing inbound communication and escalations with both internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the timely reopening of accounts after full debt payment, including participation in reopening campaigns.
A significant aspect of the Specialist's role is data-driven, requiring them to proactively seek out and implement process improvements based on inbound interactions. The Specialist will be the operational lead for specific approaches, such as maintaining RPA solutions, analyzing post-robotics outcomes, highlighting challenges, and identifying improvement options. They are also responsible for owning and generating all payment reports for the agencies and managing related communication and escalations. The Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for the Global Credit Control team, is expected to resolve operational issues, and is expected to escalate matters to the Senior Legal Collections Analyst when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Booking.com BV in performing and improving existing legal collection operations effectively.
- Manage inbound and operations ( e.g., operational reports ) for external collecting agencies
- Analyze collection agency performance and propose strategies to ensure we effectively manage risk and write off. Generating innovative ideas to enhance the customer and partner journey and increase overall efficiency.
- Review and update accounts under the legal collections portfolio and maintain accounts receivable aging within agreed and accepted parameters.
- Perform of internal and SOX audit controls
- Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in data sets to provide advice to Credit Control Operations when needed
- Together with the rest of the team, support the Credit Control department and relevant stakeholders in all incoming queries and Legal Collections trainings in a timely manner.
- Validate the statistical reports from internal and external sources. Preparing necessary reports and analysis
- Global Scope & Collaboration: Operating on a global scale, involving cooperation with various internal teams and external Collecting Agencies across different regions.
- Perform in accordance with business policy and procedures
- Identify business needs and prioritization areas, working with a critical mindset on daily processes to recommend ways to eliminate manual work, and improve process scalability.
- Team Support: Supporting Legal Collection Team with projects and controls aimed at reducing risk within Booking.com and supporting strategic business initiatives.
Level of Education:
Bachelor degree

Requirements of special knowledge/skills
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Google documents , Word and Visio.
- Background in Finance, Economics or a related field
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
- Accuracy with good attention to detail
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
