Finance Senior Business Analyst (For independent contractors)
Booking.com is on a Finance transformation journey to support the delivery of the company strategy and the growth of the company. As part of this Finance transformation journey we are assessing how we can ensure that the Finance organisation is equipped to deliver its objectives in the long term.
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Finance Transformation - Senior Process/Business Analyst to join our dynamic Transformation team at Booking. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in driving transformation initiatives, managing projects end-to-end, and identifying business process improvements. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring successful delivery of projects that drive operational efficiency and strategic impact.
Your responsibilities will include analyzing and redesigning end-to-end business processes, managing project delivery across multiple stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of intelligent automation solutions. You will also be expected to act as a liaison between business and technical teams, gather and document business requirements, and ensure that solutions are aligned with regulatory standards and organizational goals. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a proactive approach, and the ability to lead initiatives independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Daily activities include (but not limited to):
BPM (Business Process Management):
Analyze and document current state ("as-is") business processes with a focus on finance processes.
Identify process gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for optimization.
Design future-state ("to-be") process maps aligned with business goals and transformation strategies.
Facilitate workshops and process walkthroughs with stakeholders to validate process flows and improvement opportunities.
Support implementation of process changes and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor key process metrics and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
Business Analysis for RPA/AI Initiatives:
Work closely with Finance Towers to identify and assess opportunities for automation using RPA, AI, and other intelligent automation tools.
Gather and define functional and non-functional requirements for RPA/AI solutions.
Collaborate with developers, and solution architects to translate business needs into technical specifications.
Support the design, testing, and deployment of automation solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
Participate in use case discovery, feasibility analysis, and ROI estimation for automation initiatives.
Transformation PMO/PM
Independently lead and manage projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage project communications and stakeholder expectations.
Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and report progress to leadership.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting high-quality standards.
Identify and resolve issues and roadblocks that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
Knowledge:
Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies
Proficient in end-to-end business analysis techniques
Sound knowledge of project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid), including tools for planning, execution, and reporting.
Good Understanding of tooling such as Signavio, Celonis, Jira
Master degree
Proven track record in delivering business transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Hands-on experience managing end-to-end projects independently, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
Exposure to RPA/AI implementations and working closely with technical teams to deliver automation solutions.
Strong background in process mapping, requirement gathering, and stakeholder engagement across cross-functional teams.
Skills:
Independently oversee projects and provide support to programs, ensuring accountability for deliverables, Preferably Finance background and experience
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a problem-solving mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in tools such as:
Process mapping (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio)
Project management Tooling (e.g., JIRA)
RPA/AI tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate)
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
