Full Stack Software Engineer (For independent contractors)

Partner Experience is part of Partnerships and owns products and platform capabilities including Affiliate Partner Centre, Partnerships Portal, Partnerships Product Platform and Partner Management API.

The broader Partnerships organisation focuses on delivering globally scalable, high-value solutions to demand partners, and Partner Experience plays a key role in enabling that through partner-facing products and platform capabilities.

Partnerships Portal is the back-office portal used by strategic partners to manage products, commission visibility, contracts, and account settings. Its vision is to make go-to-market more scalable through self-serve experiences that improve partner engagement.

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help build the products and platform capabilities that power partner self-service experiences in Partnerships. In this role, you will design and implement technical solutions based on business requirements, collaborate closely with product and engineering peers, and contribute to reliable, scalable software that improves the partner experience.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and maintain software applications using the languages, systems, services, and tools relevant to the business area.

  
  

• Translate business requirements into high-quality technical solutions and deliver production-ready code with strong engineering craft.

  
  

• Write readable, reusable code, apply standard patterns and libraries, and continuously refactor to keep systems maintainable and easy to evolve.

  
  

• Treat test automation as a core part of delivery and ensure software quality through sound testing practices and sustainable development habits.

  
  

• Contribute to end-to-end service ownership by deploying and operating services in production, monitoring application health and performance, and acting on issues when metrics are violated.

  
  

• Improve reliability by resolving incidents, contributing to postmortems, and turning operational learnings into long-term fixes.

  
  

• Support software and system design decisions by evaluating solution options against business, technology, and architectural needs.

  
  

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and adjacent teams to prioritise and implement technical work that creates value for partners at scale.

  
  

• Help build platform capabilities that give teams common partner context such as authentication, authorisation, and partner data, enabling more standardised and scalable partner experiences.

What we are looking for

• Experience building production software in a collaborative engineering environment.

  
  

• Strong fundamentals in software design, coding, testing, refactoring, and maintainability.

  
  

• Ability to own work from implementation through production, with a mindset for quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

  
  

• Good judgment when balancing business needs, technical trade-offs, and long-term system health.

  
  

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, product stakeholders, and managers.

  
  

• Comfort working in systems where operational excellence, monitoring, and incident response are part of the engineering role.

  
  

• Ability to learn and work on different tech stacks since we use a combination of Java/Spring, Typescript/NodeJS, React and some legacy Perl code.

Nice to have

• Experience working on partner-facing platforms, portals, or self-service products.

  
  

• Familiarity with APIs, service-oriented architectures, and platform thinking.

  
  

• Experience contributing to scalable B2B products or internal platforms used by multiple teams.
