A Software Engineer II owns the execution of technical elements across the Booking.com tech stack, products, and processes. They implement technical solutions based on business requirements, estimate effort and impact, and demonstrate high craftsmanship.

Understanding that test automation quality is as critical as production code, they refactor both to ensure ease of change and enable a sustainable development pace. Software Engineer IIs collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to design, prioritize, and execute technical tasks. Focus areas range from product features to infrastructure automation, frameworks, tooling, or services depending on business unit needs.
