Please note, this is a 9-month assignment for freelancers, and 1-2 days in the office per week are required.

The pay rate is 40-75 EUR/hour.

The Procurement Consultant is responsible for buying activities with the objective  to reduce the overall spend, minimizing administrative efforts, increase supplier performance and ensure integrity and compliance in the process. This role works on regional or global contracts with a spendscope of up to 10.000k, being responsible for at least one full category, which can include overseeing subcategories run by Procurement Specialists. Deals with suppliers on regional C-level independently.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work on multiple projects and tasks that are complex and have a high impact on the organization’s  business


  • Work on regional or global contracts with a spendscope up to 10.000k. Scope covers at least one full  category, which can include overseeing subcategories


  • Be responsible for negotiating the best pricing & terms for the products / services to be bought  Independently source required product and services for the Booking.com


  • Drive the process and select the best suitable suppliers  Lead and monitor supplier performance management with the internal business partner


  • Support the Senior Manager Procurement in the strategic sourcing activities


  • Engage and coordinate with the respective parties to comply with data privacy, security and  sustainability guidelines


  • Prepare the spend data analysis. Generate and analyze KPIs, internal reports and provide visibility and  possibilities for cost reduction and team improvements


  • Ensure compliance and standards are adhered to


  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager Procurement to support Management of Finance Operations and


  • Accounting Operations to establish a professional procurement team


  • Act as a first point of contact for vendor and procurement escalations from business stakeholders and  accounting operations


  • Lead commercial processes and is part of the business project team


  • Deal with suppliers on regional C-level independently


  • Be responsible for non standard contracts for diverse sets of operating and commercial models. Can  deviate from standards subject to Legal advice and Risk approval


  • Establish and maintain procurement best practices and shares with peers


  • Ensure that daily procurement operations are operating optimally and in a compliant manner


  • Function as a backfill for the Procurement Manager when needed



Requirements of special knowledge/skills


  • Ability to apply broad knowledge of one professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices


  • Strong negotiation skills


  • Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful


  • Solution oriented and result driven


  • Proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team


  • Good communication and analytical skills


  • Ability to multi-task & flexible attitude

  • Systems: SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel advanced level)


  • Tendering and contracting experience preferable in the area of services or experience in the P2P process


  • Affinity with legal, risk and security, data privacy


  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
