Instructional Designer (For contingent workers)
Role Purpose
We are looking for an Instructional Designer to design and build high-quality digital learning solutions for our Trust & Safety organisation.
This role will focus on creating scalable, engaging, and measurable e-learning experiences that improve learner retention, knowledge transfer, operational readiness, quality performance, and compliance awareness. The successful candidate will work closely with Training & Quality leads, subject matter experts, operational stakeholders, and LMS/platform owners to turn complex business, policy, process, and quality requirements into structured learning journeys, interactive courses, assessments, and reporting solutions.
This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong instructional design capability with practical e-learning development expertise and a clear understanding of how learning supports operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Design and Curriculum Development
Design engaging digital learning experiences that support learner retention and on-the-job application
Apply instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, adult learning theory, and scenario-based learning
Translate complex Trust & Safety topics, policies, workflows, quality standards, and compliance requirements into practical learning experiences
E-Learning Development and Authoring
Develop interactive e-learning content using tools such as Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, or equivalent platforms
Create digital assets including storyboards, scripts, wireframes, assessments, simulations, branching scenarios, and learner activities
Build polished, learner-friendly modules from raw training content, process documentation, policy guidance, and SME input
Produce multimedia learning assets using tools such as Vyond, Adobe Premiere,
Develop reusable templates and course design standards to ensure consistency across the learning platform
LMS and Learning Pathways
Support LMS setup, testing, publishing and version control.
Ensure content is technically compatible with LMS requirements and standards such as SCORM, xAPI, or equivalent formats
Support role-based onboarding, refresher training, certification pathways, and targeted upskilling journeys
Partner with LMS platform owners to create a simple, accessible, and effective learner experience
Assessment, Evaluation, and Learning Effectiveness
Design knowledge checks, quizzes, practical assessments, scenario-based evaluations, and applied learning exercises
Align assessments with learning objectives, operational risk, quality expectations, and compliance requirements
Help measure learning effectiveness using recognised evaluation approaches such as Kirkpatrick or similar frameworks
Learning Analytics and Content Governance
Maintain strong documentation, including storyboards, content trackers, version history, decision logs, and change records
Ensure learning content remains accurate, compliant, accessible, and easy to maintain over time
Stakeholder Collaboration and Project Delivery
Work closely with Training & Quality leads and SMEs across the full learning lifecycle from analysis through evaluation
Translate business needs, operational risks, and performance gaps into effective learning solutions
Manage timelines, dependencies, feedback loops, and competing priorities in an agile and iterative environment
Communicate progress clearly and maintain ownership through design, development, testing, implementation, and handover
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design, digital learning, and learning technology
Proven experience designing and developing e-learning solutions in a fast-paced commercial, operational, compliance, or technology-driven environment
Strong experience with curriculum design, learner journeys, course architecture, and assessment design
Hands-on experience with learning authoring tools, especially Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, or equivalent platforms
Experience creating LMS-ready content and working with standards such as SCORM, xAPI, or equivalent
Experience developing multimedia learning assets, including video, animation, audio, or interactive content
Technical Skills
Strong instructional design capability and knowledge of adult learning principles
Ability to write clear instructional copy, scripts, learner guidance, assessment questions, and scenario-based content
Strong visual design, storyboarding, and learner experience design skills
Ability to analyse learning data and turn insights into practical content improvements
Strong project documentation, tracking, and version control capability
Preferred Skills
Experience with learning analytics, dashboards, or reporting tools
Experience creating learning solutions for operational, compliance, risk, quality assurance, customer support, content moderation, or Trust & Safety environments
Familiarity with tools such as Articulate 360, Figma,Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with HTML5, basic CSS, or other web-based learning technologies
Experience using AI-supported learning design tools responsibly and effectively
Experience creating blended learning solutions that combine e-learning with facilitator guides, workshops, job aids, coaching materials, or practical exercises

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, Education, Communication, Psychology, or a related field
Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
Additional certifications in instructional design, e-learning development, learning technology, project management, accessibility, or learning analytics are a plus
