MDG Hub Project Manager – New ERP (BTL on RISE)

Role overview

The MDG Hub Project Manager is accountable for leading the end-to-end implementation of the MDG Hub for the New ERP – BTL on RISE programme, ensuring it is delivered in line with the overall BTL programme timeline, design principles and deployment milestones.

This role acts as the customer-side project manager for the MDG Hub scope, working closely with E&Y as the implementation partner / SI to define, plan and manage the full delivery from initiation through design, build, testing, cutover and handover into the live operating model.

A critical part of the role is to start the initiative properly: establish a clear Project Brief, define the objectives, scope, team structure, delivery approach and target operating model, align key stakeholders, and then drive execution with strong governance, reporting, RAID management and follow-through.

Key responsibilities

1. Project initiation and mobilisation

- Lead the creation of a clear Project Brief for the MDG Hub scope, covering objectives, scope, success measures, assumptions, dependencies and timeline.

- Define and document the team structure and roles required to deliver the MDG Hub, including Booking.com, E&Y, business stakeholders and supporting technical teams.

- Establish the initial delivery approach, governance and ways of working for the MDG Hub workstream, aligned with the wider BTL on RISE programme.

2. Scope, objectives and operating model

- Ensure the MDG Hub scope is clearly defined, including the relevant master data domains, governance processes, workflows, interfaces and adoption impacts.

- Drive clarity on the target operating model once MDG Hub is live, including ownership, stewardship, governance forums, process flows, support model and handover expectations.

- Ensure alignment between the MDG Hub scope and the wider S/4HANA, Data Migration, Integration and Functional design decisions.

3. Planning and full implementation management

- Get the SI / E&Y team to produce a credible delivery plan covering design, build, configuration, testing, cutover, hypercare and handover.

- Review, challenge and align the plan with key stakeholders, dependencies and programme milestones, ensuring it is realistic and sufficiently detailed.

- Manage the end-to-end implementation of the MDG Hub, tracking progress closely and ensuring timely delivery of agreed deliverables and outcomes.

4. Stakeholder management and alignment

- Build strong relationships with the key stakeholder groups required for success, especially:

- Master Data Governance / Data Governance team

- E2E Integration team

- Functional Workstreams

- Data Migration team

- E&Y delivery leads and consultants

- Facilitate alignment across business and technology stakeholders on scope, design choices, sequencing, ownership and readiness.

- Proactively manage conflicting priorities, unresolved decisions and cross-team dependencies to avoid delays to the MDG Hub timeline.

5. Governance, reporting and RAID management

- Own the project status reporting for the MDG Hub scope into the wider BTL programme cadence.

- Maintain and actively manage the RAID log for the workstream, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and actions are visible, owned and followed through.

- Run effective governance for the workstream, including meetings, decision tracking, escalation management, milestone reviews and status communications.

6. Delivery quality and dependency management

- Ensure all key MDG Hub deliverables are produced to the right quality, reviewed by the right stakeholders and approved on time.

- Manage dependencies across MDG, S/4HANA design, integration, migration, testing and deployment so that the workstream stays aligned with the overall programme timeline.

- Track progress against milestones, identify slippage early and drive recovery actions when needed.

7. Testing, cutover and readiness

- Work with Testing, Data Migration, Integration and Functional leads to ensure the MDG Hub is properly covered in SIT, E2E testing, UAT, cutover and go-live readiness activities.

- Ensure the workstream is ready for cutover with clear plans for deployment, validation, issue management and business readiness.

- Support the transition from project into live operation, ensuring the agreed operating model, ownership and support processes are in place.

8. Documentation and control

- Ensure key project artefacts are created, maintained and kept up to date, including:

- Project Brief

- Scope and milestone plan

- Team structure / RACI

- RAID log

- Status reports

- Decision log

- Operating model documentation

- Maintain strong control of actions, decisions and deliverables so the workstream remains transparent and audit-friendly.
