About Booking.com

At Booking.com, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world by solving some of the most complex challenges in travel and technology. We are united by our core values: Think customer first, Succeed together, Own It, Learn Forever, and Do the Right Thing.

About the New Team and New Project

You will be joining a newly formed squad within the Trips Data organisation on the highly critical new program of the migration from the current ground transport Financial data flows to SAP S/4 on Rise.

The SAP Rise program is a major business modernization initiative designed to migrate the current Booking Transport (BTL) SAP instance to a standardized cloud-based ERP system. This project will introduce an interim architecture to test processes, data contracts, and data quality, ultimately supporting the transition to our North Star architecture where data flows directly from a modernized enterprise order platform.

About the Role:

We are seeking a delivery-focused Product Manager to lead the integration of data flows between our existing platforms and the SAP S/4HANA RISE ecosystem. You will hold clear accountability for agile delivery planning and prioritisation and ensure seamless collaboration across product, engineering, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Roadmapping:

Own and manage the product backlog for the Data migration and integration initiatives. Translate business data requirements into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Partner with the Senior Product Manager to maintain a clear roadmap, align priorities based on business value, and lead capacity planning.

Agile Delivery Accountability:

Partner with the engineering manager in ownership of end-to-end agile delivery. Drive sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives), monitor progress, and proactively remove blockers. Define and monitor KPIs related to delivery speed, efficiency, and product quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as the central point of coordination. You will partner with Engineering Managers for capacity and technical delivery, Business Analysts to refine scope, and Data Managers to ensure data integrity. Ensure clear communication and alignment with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.

Data Governance, Quality & Testing:

Ensure robust solution architecture, data governance, compliance, and resilience are built into the data products. Support the engineering team in defining and executing rigorous testing strategies (functional, integration, and data validation). Gather and report on data usage, data flows, and quality benchmarks. Write, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Your Skills and Experience

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner with a strong track record of end-to-end agile delivery ownership.

  • Knowledge of data integration, APIs, and enterprise platforms.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams comprising engineering, data, and business professionals.

  • Highly analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to query data independently when necessary.

  • Strong skills in capacity planning, prioritization, roadmapping, and stakeholder management.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA

  • Experience delivering data solutions that enable a connected view of data across different areas of a business.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and analytical tools used to improve performance.

  • Experience creating a unified/connected data view across business domains

  • Understanding of user experience in data products

  • Experience in large-scale data transformation or migration programs

A successful candidate is:

  • A data-focused product leader with strong technical depth

  • Experienced in large-scale data transformation (ideally SAP migration)

  • Comfortable operating in complex, cross-functional environments

  • A strong communicator - be able to communicate with the business at all levels and across disciplines - data specific, technical and non-technical.

  • Able to write clear and concise product goals, requirements, status updates and product results.

  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and influencing skills - able to bring diverse stakeholders together to agree and move forward with an approach or plan

  • Able to proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks, impediments, and cross-team dependencies to ensure smooth execution.

  • Organised facilitator of agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews) to maintain a consistent delivery cadence.

Why this role matters

The SAP RISE migration is part of the Tech enablement business priority Booking.com with the aim of Financial data for all booking verticals within the one central ERP which supports the Connected Trip vision, improve efficiencies, scaling.

Location

You are required to go into the Manchester office occasionally on a need-basis.

Specifically, this means:

  • Attending specific in-person workshops or team-alignment sessions.

  • Occasional visits to collaborate when the whole squad (which has around 10 people) is brought together—similar to the onboarding workshop they ran when the squad first launched.

While being near Manchester is beneficial, if not then you must be willing and able to travel in when these occasional workshops and meetings occur.
