Program Manager (For independent contractors)
Program Managers possess a strong program management background with excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience leading medium to large programs. They have solid experience assessing business needs, developing implementation strategies, and leading end-to-end activities.
As a Program Manager, you will coordinate, manage and deliver diverse complex business-critical initiatives that may span across different domains and multiple departments. Program managers deliver change as per agreed timelines and budgets, working closely with people of diverse functional backgrounds and participating in every phase of the program lifecycle from initiation to handover.
The Program Manager is responsible for the governance, E2E program management and delivery of several streams of work (or portfolios) within the Marketplace Department as per agreed timelines. The Program Manager will partner, support and work proactively with the various teams within the Department to facilitate the work occurring between them and other business units and centralised functions.
This role will oversee the successful delivery of the program with an efficient governance for progress control and fast decision making. They will ensure that the team roadmaps/plans focus on agreed business priorities, dependencies and strategies, and deliver against the shared objectives and main activities with key milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Craft Methodology and Standards:
Lead best practice behaviours and be an ambassador for Programme Management methodology
E2E Program Management:
Lead independently end-to-end complex programs from initiation to completion
Program Initiation and Planning:
Drive program scoping and planning with different teams and associated documentation
Define and document program objectives, requirements, success criteria, KPIs, roadmap, risks, dependencies, and cost estimates
Program Implementation and Completion:
Drive plan execution ensuring objectives are met on agreed timelines
Track and report progress, identifying risks/issues/dependencies to governance groups
Program Governance:
Design and implement governance ensuring clarity on accountability, communication, and decision-making
Design cross-organisational structures and mechanisms to ensure programs reach their goals
Enable teams and leaders to make quality decisions and support prioritisation
Delivery/Impact:
Drive the progress and successful delivery of large business initiatives that bring significant value to the business. Collaborate with multiple teams and departments to ensure that teams deliver significant change covering the full scope, on agreed timelines and budget.
Stakeholder Management:
Primary point of contact for programme-related queries
Ability to work and productively interact with stakeholders up to Sr Director level
Success Metrics:
Define and measure the success metrics of the Program(s) in scope
Facilitator:
Lead independently workshops to support the delivery of the Program(s)
Strategy:
This role may also own the strategy related to key business topics — defining the problem, creating output using data-driven analytics, and delivering recommendations to senior stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience: 8+ years
Strong project management skills (Agile, Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, PMI/Prince, LEAN)
Solid business understanding; ability to use data to drive decision-making
Change Management experience at programme level
Effective communication across seniority levels and domains
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence at Director and Sr Director level
Flexibility to function in ambiguity and competing priorities
Ability to solve complex problems independently
Highly organized and structured; ensures all processes run smoothly and reliably
Able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project/program teams to achieve organizational goals
Ensure programme outcomes are in line with customer needs and expectations
