Senior Controller (For independent contractors)

Experienced Senior Controller with extensive statutory preparation experience, with specific experience relating to historical clean up of local GAAP statutory adjustments, documentation of adjustments, determination of permanent vs. temporary adjustments, etc.

The candidate will be performing a clean up and documentation exercise for historical local GAAP statutory adjustments across 70+ Booking.com regional accounting entities in order to help prepare for an eventual transition toward non-leading/local ledgers in our ERP.

The candidate will be working within a team of internal Booking employees to identify local GAAP adjustments, document the rationale for each adjustment, classify the adjustments as permanent or temporary, and also assess whether those adjustments need to be maintained in our local books due to materiality, applicability, relevance, etc.

Requirements:

• Experience in statutory preparation and assessing GAAP to GAAP differences

  
  

• Demonstrated pragmatic decision-making capabilities in areas involving materiality, risk, etc.

  
  

• Proven ability to work well independently, objective-oriented, focused.

  
  

• Self starter/proactive and capable of dealing with the ambiguity of documenting an unestablished process

  
  

• Previous experience drafting decision documents, presentations, etc. outlining results of work performed, suggested ways of working going forward, and other recommendations.
