We are looking for a Senior Employee Relations Partner to join the ER team starting mid-October 2024 for 6 months. This is a great opportunity to experience the Employee Relations environment, which is tied in closely to our entire business. The role is part of HR Advisory but partners very closely with the Compliance and Ethics function at Booking.com and the Global Investigation Service (GIS) at BHI.


As Senior ER Partner your key responsibilities will be:

Investigations


  • Lead fair, transparent, and unbiased investigations of alleged HR-related Code of Conduct violations and other alleged company policy violations for the entire EMEA and HQ region


  • Compile reports of findings and share back with the business/HR and Compliance team where needed


  • Work closely with and consult with stakeholders including GIS at BHI, Employment Law team, and Compliance & Ethics teams.


  • Contribute to the efficient and consistent application of investigation processes and support in building data reviews for business leaders.


  • Analyze case data to identify common themes or trends and take proactive approach to prevent issues from recurring


Employee Relations Expertise and Guidance


  • Provide support and partnership to the HQ and EMEA HR team on complex employee relations issues


  • Apply conflict resolution techniques to solve situational conflicts and liaise when necessary with external mediators


  • Engage in aftercare process with HR to ensure recommendations on cases and issues are effective on the long term


  • Design and conduct climate analysis / cultural assessment across all businesses on a need-to-need basis


Employee Relations Team


  • Engage and collaborate with global peers across regions and timezones


  • Increase visibility throughout Booking.com through projects, initiatives, and programs


  • Collaborate with stakeholders across global functions, including Legal, Compliance, and HR


  • Proactively find opportunities to enhance the customer experience and lead the creation and implementation of innovative solutions


As Senior ER Partner, you have:


  • Strong experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Compliance and/or Legal, including specific experience leading complex workplace investigations


  • Strong interpersonal skills to get meaningful answers during interviews/investigation


  • Ability to develop trusted partnerships with HR and other stakeholders


  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters


  • Strong influencing skills


  • Ability to navigate tensions between legal requirements and business outcomes while maintaining positive relationships


  • Understanding of employment laws and best practices to manage legal risk


  • Demonstrated experience working with data and metrics for reporting or influencing change


  • Well-developed project management skills, including preparing project plans and key achievement measurements.
