Senior Financial Accountant (For independent contractors)

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be the accounting extraordinaire for some of our most complex accounting topics, juggling US GAAP and local compliance like a pro. Think of it as a double dose of accounting fun! But wait, there's more – you'll also get to stretch your leadership muscles by guiding projects and mentoring our team's rising stars. The tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct the monthly closing process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, detailed supporting analysis and relevant documentation.
Review monthly financial results and perform variance analysis on balance sheet and profit and loss accounts during the closing procedures.
Support the payroll team with monthly processes and review the payroll journals and supporting documentation.
Work closely with external providers (local accountants and external auditors) to ensure that the organization is compliant with the local regulations.
Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and prepare reports so that stakeholders have accurate and timely information for making business decisions. These reports may include financial statements and regulatory filings such as VAT and corporate income tax declarations.
Proactively work to ensure all compliance requirements are met in a timely manner, i.e. various tax filings, statutory and statistical filings and potentially audits.
Identify and participate in initiatives and projects to drive continuous process improvements and innovations.
Help the team meet and exceed department goals.
Be responsible for entities with higher complexity
Be a driving force for accounting initiatives by leading projects
Be a resource for other team members by leading team trainings and developing and sharing best practices
Demonstrate a high level of ownership and drive to achieve aggressive objectives
Contribute to the development of a tactical approach to achieving short-term business objectives
Review the work of other team members
Serve as a point of contact for key stakeholders
Serves as a subject matter expert within an area of expertise

B.Skilled:
Desired 4-6 years of relevant accounting and GL experience
Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
Accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, etc) preferred, but not required
Able to cope with dynamic and high change environment
Takes a high degree of ownership for responsibilities with a positive attitude
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders
Inquisitive and curious mind, open to new projects
Eye for continuous process improvement
Proactive self-starter, resourceful with strong work ethic

Capable of working independently as well as working in a team
Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP S4/HANA, is preferable
