Booking.com is the world’s #1 accommodation site and the 3rd largest global e-commerce player. Our diverse team, ~12,000 strong, is united by a single mission: to empower people to experience the world. Whether in our Amsterdam HQ or at one of our 200 offices worldwide, we work hard to help make more than a million travel dreams come true every single day.

In 2021 Booking established its own specific Fintech business unit. Already a sizable organisation of 350 FTE, we are still in hyper-growth (min 40% YoY increase), at the center of innovation of our new products and therefore of key strategic importance to Booking.com and across the wider Holdings group. Fintech’s scope includes complexities on multiple dimensions (i.e. locations, growth, brands), and most importantly we work with inspiring, ambitious, positive and smart colleagues from all over the world.

Within the Fintech business unit, we have the Financial Systems teams, which are responsible for our internal financial tooling (i.e. SAP, Klarna, Billing) and are leading one of the biggest collaboration projects across our different brands. This puts the Financial Systems teams at the center of rapid change, growth and increased complexity, even more compared to the rest of the Fintech business unit. It is for this reason, combined with the strategic significance of the Financial Systems teams to the wider business, that we are now looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join the HR Advisory team.

This Senior HR Business Partner role will partner, influence and advise business leaders on People related topics, actively engaging in the strategic and/or tactical direction, problem statements, business goals and priorities and how they impact the company. This role is considered to be fully part of the Financial Systems Leadership Team. You will report to the Senior HR Manager and work closely together with your business, other HR Advisors and our Central People Teams.

For the Senior HR Business Partner role, the expectations and responsibilities include:

  • Partner, coach and challenge business leaders and people managers on People related topics, actively engaging on tactical and strategic topics, problem statements, business goals and priorities, balancing the HR, manager, employee, and company perspectives.

  • Partner with (Sr) HRD or Manager to drive the People Agenda in the Financial Systems area and vice versa, therefore also proactively partnering with the Central People teams to enable the Financial Systems team to achieve its objectives.

  • Strengthen the collaboration & culture of the Financial Systems teams (in the context of rapid change and high complexity) with the rest of the Fintech business unit as a priority, but also towards other business units and brands is key.

  • Lead the Talent Management for the teams in your scope in collaboration with the leadership team and its people managers.

  • Responsible for working within organisational design principles and leading change initiatives with regard to structure design and development, reorganisations. Own the Strategic Workforce Planning & Operating Model planning together with the business and the Central People teams for Financial Systems.

  • Ability to proactively signal possibilities & risks (based on data) of HR policies, procedures and processes (or lack thereof) and contribute to solutions for optimization, creating buy-in with all relevant stakeholders, guide implementation and execution in your scope (and beyond when relevant).

  • Responsible for end to end delivery and adoption of critical People topics within the teams you partner with (e.g. promote and enable engagement conversations, programs that attract and retain talent, career & skills framework).

  • Responsible for ensuring the capabilities needed in the respective organisations are there to deliver the business targets, with a focus both on the short and long term. (e.g. partner with leadership to map capabilities & contribute to the solution to achieve this)

  • Create tailored solutions for people's challenges in partnership with (relevant) Central People teams.

  • To be the voice of the business within the People Department. Accountable for identifying, predicting and articulating key people related business challenges. Responsible to co-create required interventions, acting as the bridge between the business and the People teams.

  • Represent the People Department in front of your business leaders. Ensure the business receives consistent quality of service and guidance so the business feels the People Department is acting as one voice.

  • Change management incl. WoCo responsibility: Partner with your business on change initiatives. As necessary, support in WoCo consultations and preparation to ensure that HR topics are of high quality and planned well in advance. Guide your business through the WoCo process.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years experience within People topic (strong preference for HR Advisory experience)
