Job summary

Commercial Growth and Operations (CoGo) relies on high-quality, well-structured knowledge to enable teams to support Booking.com’s accommodation partners effectively and consistently. As a Senior Knowledge Management Specialist, you will help turn knowledge management priorities into practical improvements in content quality, governance, usability, adoption, and scalable knowledge practices.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who is confident working across stakeholders, improving knowledge processes, and delivering measurable outcomes in a complex environment. You will lead defined workstreams and improvements within the broader knowledge management strategy and help teams apply stronger knowledge practices in day-to-day work.

The role is suited to a strong practitioner who combines hands-on delivery with good judgment, stakeholder partnership, and a solid understanding of how knowledge should be structured, maintained, and made easier to use in modern search and AI-supported knowledge environments.

About the team

You will be part of the Knowledge Management function supporting CoGo, the area of Booking.com that supports accommodation partners and the teams that serve them. The team works across central and local contexts to improve how knowledge is created, maintained, accessed, and applied.

You will partner with content owners, subject matter experts, local business teams, and central functions to improve the quality and usability of knowledge in areas that matter to the business.

What you will do

  • Lead defined knowledge management workstreams and improvements that support the broader Knowledge management strategy.

  • Partner with stakeholders across central and local teams to improve how knowledge is identified, captured, maintained, shared, and accessed.

  • Build and strengthen content standards, workflows, governance practices, and quality controls within your area of responsibility.

  • Advise stakeholders on how to structure and present knowledge so it is concise, relevant, accessible, useful for the intended audience, and better suited to modern search and AI-supported use cases.

  • Help improve the use of knowledge management tools and platforms to support better search, maintenance, delivery, and usability of information.

  • Define and track relevant measures for your work, use insights to identify improvement opportunities, and communicate progress clearly.

  • Support adoption of new knowledge practices, tools, or processes so they are understood and embedded effectively.

  • Contribute to stronger knowledge-sharing habits and collaborative ways of working across teams.

What success looks like

  • The knowledge areas and workstreams you own become easier to maintain, easier to trust, and easier for teams to use.

  • Standards, workflows, and governance practices are applied more consistently within your area of responsibility.

  • Stakeholders are better equipped to create and maintain useful knowledge with your support.

  • Your work delivers visible improvements in knowledge quality, usability, adoption, or findability.

  • New tools, content approaches, or process changes are introduced smoothly and used effectively by the relevant teams.

What you will bring

  • Experience in knowledge management, information management, content governance, enablement, or a closely related field.

  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups in a matrixed, fast-moving, or global environment.

  • Ability to translate business and user needs into practical knowledge improvements, standards, or solutions.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.

  • Experience improving how knowledge is organized, maintained, and made accessible to users.

  • Comfort using data or metrics to assess usage, identify issues, and guide improvements.

  • Working knowledge of knowledge management systems, style guides, writing standards, AI-supported search capabilities, tools, or platforms.

  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to governance frameworks or structured knowledge improvement programs.

  • Experience supporting adoption of new tools, processes, or ways of working.

  • Experience or working knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, or Salesforce.

  • Familiarity with AI-supported search or knowledge management capabilities.

  • Understanding of adult learning principles, communities of practice, or knowledge-sharing program design.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Why this role

This role offers meaningful global exposure, visible business relevance, and the opportunity to improve how teams access and use knowledge in a commercially important environment. It is a strong fit for someone who wants to grow as a senior practitioner, lead key workstreams, and deepen their understanding of modern knowledge management.

The payrate for independent contractors is 30-74 EUR/hr.
