This is a senior level role primarily covering the Rides and Attractions verticals within the Trips business unit, with a focus on Commercial work (primarily contracting matters with our platform’s supply Partners in these verticals). As Commercial senior legal counsel, this role requires c.5-8 years PQE (other PQE’s will be considered) with an in-depth knowledge and experience of commercial contracting. Project management experience and commercial awareness are also required, and to have a tangible impact on and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

General

  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach to getting the job done, drawing on technical specialist support from other members of the Legal & Public Affairs team and with a range of stakeholders both within the Trips business and externally.


  • Create and present guidance documents and training materials for teams within the business.


  • Execute cross Trips legal team knowledge projects and initiatives (i.e. coordination of external counsel used across the team, input into and dissemination of legal horizon scanning).


  • Continually review and assess our precedents and guidelines to ensure that we are being innovative and bold, whilst recognising the agreed risk appetite.


  • Support in implementation of new, and maintain compliance with existing, legislation (such as, Platform 2 Business Regulations).


  • Supporting any partner communications/notices required for new initiatives or notifiable changes.



Commercial


  • As commercial counsel, this role drafts and negotiates commercial supply/agency agreements with Rides and Attractions supply partners, manages and maintains the Trips contract template library and modernises our contracting processes in collaboration with the wider LPA department.


  • Liaise directly with Trips business units as a reliable and commercially minded first point of contact within legal for both specific commercial and contracting projects and also business as usual ad hoc queries (for example, partner terminations, novations, suspensions, fraud issues, etc).


  • Working closely with other members of the Legal & Public Affairs team in particular in respect of privacy and compliance issues as required including ensuring provisions are included in the above agreements as appropriate. Research new commercial topics and confidently turn research into pragmatic legal advice and action.


  • Supporting new commercial product streams and drafting supporting documentation/ templates as required (such as, Partner Help Centre FAQs, internal FAQs or self-help guidance).


  • Liaising with other parts of the business in respect of the above where required including in particular Tax and Finance colleagues.


  • Design and implement efficient and scalable ways of working to enable sustainable business growth, including, as applicable, the implementation of legal tech solutions such as e-contracting tools and the transition from paper contracts to click through terms in Trips verticals.


  • Provide training, guidance tools and templates to the business to enable commercial teams to self-help themselves with lesser interaction with Legal on regularly occurring topics.
