Senior Manager - Privacy Transformation & Operational Excellence (For independent contractors)
Job Summary:
In this role, you will serve as strategic partner to the Privacy function leadership team (Privacy LT) and other departments across the company to drive privacy operational excellence, and ensure the privacy function operates with optimal efficiency and impact.
Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, the Senior Manager - Privacy Transformation & Operational Excellence is critical in transforming and maturing the privacy function, enhancing internal processes and optimising how the team collaborates internally and with external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. This includes optimising business processes, streamlining and maturing operations, strengthening privacy compliance and driving efficiencies by ensuring the right topics are being worked on across the function, improving and overseeing the day-to-day operations and key processes owned or used by the privacy function.
This role requires someone able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Function Governance
Design and implement efficient cross-organisational mechanisms and communications to ensure the functions strategic alignment and long-term success.
Connect the dots and identify synergies, opportunities and risks/dependencies across projects/programs and elevate them where appropriate
Ensure annual, quarterly & weekly leadership meetings/processes are effective at connecting strategy, prioritization decisions and downstream execution
Provide thought leadership, advice & support on the Privacy function operations, objectives and strategy, including setting high quality standards both within the department as well as influence across the organisation.
Facilitate strategic planning sessions for the Privacy leadership team, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
Process Excellence
Lead the design & implementation of structured methodology to ensure an effective way of running business as usual operations
Design, improve, implement and/or execute thoughtful, yet simple and thorough, processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Drive adoption of standardized processes across the department to increase efficiency and effectiveness while also simplifying where possible; including file management and versioning methodology.
Optimise processes and ways of working with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Champion the adoption of best practices and tools to enhance team productivity and workflow management
Performance management
Actively manage and mature the Privacy function scorecard (tracking, reporting and developing success criteria, KPIs etc.) providing insights and actionable recommendations to the Privacy LT.
Ensure focus areas, resource allocation, objectives, KPIs & metrics are aligned to strategy.
Monitor quarterly objectives / strategic priorities, ensure prompt & effective actions are taken by the responsible owners to course correct where necessary
Proactively identify and address potential roadblocks to team performance and objective achievement.
Ensure effective resource planning by anticipating future peak workloads and team member availability (including holidays and leaves) to proactively manage resources for efficiency.
Support Decision Making
Serve as a critical advisor and support decision making by helping Privacy LT prepare materials for relevant company leadership team meetings/committees/briefings and for key privacy function meetings
Ensure Privacy LT are spending time on most important topics & have high quality materials in order make effective, impactful decisions
Develop recommendations, communicate and align with compelling storyline to senior stakeholders

Bachelor Degree

Subject Matter Expertise
Experience or familiarity in legal, risk or compliance functions - ideally with exposure to privacy teams and processes.
Proven success in managing organisational effectiveness in a large international company
Have a solid business understanding, independently able to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making. Ability to tell a clear story with data/insights.
Proven record of influential leadership to steer change in a challenging and fast pace environment
Strategic Thinking
Can break down complex, ill-defined legal, risk or compliance problems into clear project definition, with well articulated workstreams to solve
Demonstrate ability to think creatively and “connect the dots” to create high quality solutions which drive significant impact

Fluent in English (written and verbal)
