At Booking.com, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of security to protect our people, assets, and information. Our Corporate Security team plays a vital role in this mission, implementing robust security measures and working towards a security-conscious culture. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in physical security systems, particularly Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS) such as Lenel OnGuard and Nedap AEOS. The primary focus of this role is to lead and manage the full lifecycle of physical security projects, from initiation, design, and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure.

A unique and critical aspect of this position involves mentoring and developing new colleagues joining as Security Functional Administrators. You will be instrumental in their onboarding, teaching them the fundamentals of security and guiding them to become proficient in their roles. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both Dutch and English and possess a proven track record of successfully delivering complex physical security projects. A significant advantage is your extensive experience with Nedap AEOS, which has equipped you with a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of its software and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management (approx. 70%):

  • Lead, plan, design, execute, and deliver physical security projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations, providing regular project updates and reports to senior management and other relevant parties.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors/suppliers for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.

  • Ensure all project documentation is comprehensive, up-to-date, and stored appropriately.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements to drive continuous improvement.

This role requires global travel to project locations. Additionally, you will be expected to visit our international offices at least once during the project lifecycle.

  • Focus specifically on projects involving the design, implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of Electronic Access Control systems, primarily Lenel OnGuard and Nedap AEOS.

  • Manage projects related to VSS, intrusion detection, and other physical security technologies as required.

Colleague Development & Mentoring (approx. 30%):

  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs and training materials for new Security Functional Administrators, focusing on security fundamentals, system administration, and operational procedures. While this initiative involves collaboration with the broader technical security team, this position will take the lead.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior colleagues, helping them develop their technical skills and understanding of physical security principles.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for physical security systems, particularly Lenel OnGuard and Nedap AEOS, offering support and knowledge sharing.

  • Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment within the team.

  • Assist in evaluating the progress and development of new team members.

  • To effectively support the colleague development, a continuous awareness of the latest equipment and standards in the physical security market is a key responsibility of this role. This includes brands like, but not limited to;

  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, technologies (including VSS, intrusion detection systems), and best practices.

  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or teaching technical concepts to colleagues.

  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English languages (written and verbal communication skills).
