Key Responsibilities


  • (Where applicable) Manage and develop a small team of Project Managers in Amsterdam according to Booking.com's leadership principles


  • Apply structured methodology to and lead project/change management activities


  • Own the successful delivery of the end-to-end project lifecycle


  • Lead independently low / medium complexity projects with global impact (cross-functional) driving them through execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation


  • Apply change management processes and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.


  • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels inside and if required outside of the organization: work collaboratively with business unit partners and corporate support teams to drive enterprise strategy execution and partner on segment or functional strategy projects


  • Communicate project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders


  • With limited supervision, identify, define and scope the opportunities


  • Drive the Project scoping and Planning by helping to document the project goal, KPIs, roadmap and main deliverables


  • Track and report progress; Creates clear planning documents together with involved departments


  • Ensure a project closing and correct handover to Business as usual


  • Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director level




Requirements of special knowledge/skills


  • Solid familiarity with project/change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle


  • Ability to lead multiple low /medium complexity projects or portfolio of projects


  • A solid understanding of how people go through the change curve and the change process


  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders)


  • Ability to work effectively and influence up to Director level


  • Effectively communicate in small/medium groups; Strong influencer in 1:1 and small groups


  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and under pressure


  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics


  • With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making


  • Strategic thinking, able to contribute to long term vision


  • Strong Problem solving and root cause identification skills


  • Basic business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges


  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts is an advantage


  • Knowledge of similar industries and/or business projects is an advantage.


  • PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.




What You Will Do


  • Practical programme management: This is a hands-on role. You will create and maintain the core artefacts that help the programme run effectively, including:


  • Building and maintaining Confluence and Jira spaces as reliable sources of truth


  • Tracking milestones, actions, dependencies, risks and decisions


  • Preparing agendas, materials and follow-ups for programme forums


  • Coordinating owners and challenging overdue actions


  • Maintaining integrated plans and GTM readiness checks


  • Reconciling status across workstreams and highlighting gaps, dependencies, or inconsistencies


  • Supporting planning workshops, capturing decisions and ensuring follow-through


  • Preparing concise status updates and escalation material for programme leadership


  • Supporting the preparation of communication materials for varying audiences


What You Bring


  • 3-5 years of relevant project or program management experience, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives end to end.


  • Strong command of project and program management principles, including relevant change management and communication practices.


  • Experience establishing governance, delivery frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and structured ways of working.


  • Experience with Go-to-Market planning, transformation programs, or large-scale cross-functional delivery.


  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, RAID management, integrated planning, and decision tracking.
