Senior Software Engineer (For independent contractors)

About the Developer Insights team

We build the data foundations, insights, and metrics that help leaders and teams understand and accelerate software delivery performance.

Our work underpins company initiatives by connecting delivery data, business context, and actionable insights in one trusted platform, combining traditional data systems with an agentic GenAI solution to do so.

We’re currently expanding our repertoire of metrics to include multiple other business domains, and are looking for a curious and creative developer to help us lead the charge.

What you'll do

As a developer on this team, you will be central to turning our vision into reality. You will work closely with product & engineering managers, and other engineers to:

• Design, build, and ship both rapid prototypes and production-ready tools and services.

  
  

• Build a scalable platform to create, manage, and orchestrate data for the entire organisation.

  
  

• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code for our core platform, internal tools, and integrations.

  
  

• Act as a guide and advocate for our metrics, helping other developers understand and adopt new technologies and best practices.

  
  

• Stay curious and continuously learn about the rapidly evolving landscape of LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic systems, and then apply that learning to your work.

  
  

• Experiment with the latest GenAI technologies and methodologies to improve the overall value of the platform in a scalable, maintainable, and reliable manner.

What we're looking for

We believe the right mindset and a passion for learning are more important than a specific list of technical skills. We're looking for someone who:

• Has 8-12 years of professional software development experience.

  
  

• Has advanced experience with TypeScript, (No)SQL, AWS

  
  

• Has experience with Python, Go, Kubernetes

  
  

• Is able to independently and proactively manage multiple stakeholders

  
  

• Has knowledge of data pipeline SRE practices

  
  

• Possesses a strong foundation in software engineering principles, including writing high-quality code, the importance of testing, and system design.

  
  

• Is an excellent communicator who enjoys working collaboratively to solve complex problems and share knowledge with peers.

  
  

• Is pragmatic and product-focused, with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas into concrete technical solutions.

  
  

• Has experience in building internal systems, platforms and tools for developer teams.

  
  

• Most importantly, you are deeply curious, pragmatic, take pride in your work, and know how to move the needle through execution.
