The Fintax for Business team at Booking.com is responsible for managing tax-related services for partner businesses, focusing on implementing solutions for B2B Tax, including tax rules, calculations, and generating tax documents. The team’s mission is to develop a flexible, resilient, and sustainable tax solution that improves quality, scalability, and agility while ensuring compliance and business continuity. The team is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of tax-related processes, helping partner businesses remain compliant with various tax regulations.



The role responsibilities are:


  • Design & Development: Develop and maintain software applications using relevant development languages, tools, and technologies within the domain (mostly Java, Spring Boot).

  • Code Quality: Write readable, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices (SOLID, DRY, KISS) and ensure quality through standard testing techniques.

  • Production Deployment: Independently deploy and monitor code in production, and manage applications through deployment and operational phases.

  • Collaboration: Work primarily within the team’s scope and occasionally collaborate with partner teams. Engage with product stakeholders to understand requirements and technical solutions.

  • System Design: Evaluate architecture solutions, contribute to the design of scalable and adaptable systems.

  • Technical Incident Management: Address and resolve live production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and contribute to postmortem documentation.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, design and implement relevant optimisations.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in software engineering or a similar role within the tech industry preferable

  • Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot is preferable)

  • Experience with AWS ecosystem would be a bonus
