Test Lead (For independent contractors)
The Test Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all testing activities within initiatives across the People Tech team, ensuring the quality and reliability of software products or systems. This role will lead the development testing strategies and manage test plans and cases in coordination with key stakeholders, advocating to deliver value to customers with minimal waste and ensuring products are usable, accesible, secure and performant. The Testing Lead will also collaborate with other teams, identify and manage defects, set quality standards, processes and tools in place and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and Implementing Testing Strategies: Define the overall testing approach, including types of tests, tools and technologies, standards, guidelines and ways of working and metrics to consider, all while fostering a customer centric and value driven mindset.
Creating and Managing Test Plans and Cases: Create detailed test plans that outline the scope, objectives, and schedule of testing activities, and develop usable and automated tests with suitable test frameworks to ensure thorough coverage of the software.
Managing Defects and Issues: Identify, track, and manage defects and issues discovered during testing, working with key stakeholders (product managers, developers and/or project managers) to ensure timely resolution.
Ensuring Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring that software products meet the defined quality standards and requirements.
Collaborating with Stakeholders: Partner with product managers, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to embed testing practices in the product and/or project lifecycle, provide updates on testing progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment on quality goals.
Influencing Others: Ability to influence team processes and individuals within their track, and to drive testing and quality best practices across the business unit by influencing stakeholders. Able to influence large, business-impacting projects and determine appropriate tradeoffs to quickly deliver high-quality customer value.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, seeking to optimize efficiency and effectiveness, identifying and implementing automation opportunities and working with teams to adopt improvements standards and ways of working.
Requirements of special knowledge/skills
Level of Education: Bachelor degree
Years of experience: 5+ years relevant work experience in software testing or a closely related field
In-depth knowledge of software testing processes and methodologies
Solid familiarity with project/change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of HR and other platforms: Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, iCIMS, Docebo, Jira, Kainos Smart Test, among others
Strong influencing and communication skills with senior stakeholders
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and under pressure
Strong Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Good business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
