Treasury Senior Accountant (For independent contractors)
The Treasury Senior Accountant plays a key role within the Treasury Accounting team, with ownership over critical areas such as cash pooling, in-house banking, intercompany loans, investments, and foreign currency translation. The role also supports foreign exchange (FX) and hedge accounting processes.
This position ensures that all treasury-related accounting activities are performed in accordance with US GAAP, internal controls, and relevant external regulations and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage accounting processes related to cash pooling, in-house banking, intercompany loans, investments, and FX/hedging.
Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain an accurate and complete general ledger in compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including:
Preparation of interest movement schedule, restricted cash summary, and other supporting documentation
Reconciliation of general ledger accounts such as Investments, Loans and Accruals
Review of profit and loss statements and balance sheets for multiple legal entities performing an analysis MoM QoQ and YoY explaining drivers for noted fluctuations based on macro economic factors as well as business strategy
Analyze and interpret financial data to prepare internal reports that support leadership in understanding key fluctuations, balance composition, and financial trends.
Assist in the preparation and execution of SOX controls, statutory reporting, tax documentation, and corporate audit deliverables.
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external audits, providing timely responses to inquiries and ensuring audit readiness.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across treasury accounting operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent is a plus)
3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational or treasury-focused environment
Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting for financial instruments
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
