Business Operations Associate (For independent contractors)
Please note, this is a 7-month assignment for freelancers, and 1-2 days in the office per week are required.
The pay rate is 40-83 EUR/hour.
The Business Operations Associate helps to implement processes and structure to ensure goal achievement and to help the People department to run more smoothly. They will support the execution of the day-to-day operations of an area, or function, within the department to ensure that it runs effectively and efficiently.
They support the implementation of an effective rhythm of business within specific areas of the department to achieve the People objectives and mitigate key dependencies. The Business Operations Associate will partner with the different teams in the department to ensure the right tracking of the key initiatives deliverables and KPIs within the functions. Also they will support the adoption of Company wide processes within the People department (eg. Quarterly Operational Planning & Reviews, Strategic Portfolio Management tracking, Planning and Budget cycles, etc).
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Craft methodology and standards-
Apply structured methodology to support the adoption of standardized processes across the department to increase efficiency and effectiveness while also simplifying where possible.
Support the execution of the processes and key initiatives to run the business and the organization.
Process Excellence-
Execute thoughtful, yet simple, processes to increase efficiency and productivity. Contribute to establish business operations best practices within the area of scope.
Planning-
Support annual and ad hoc planning processes within the area of scope.
Cadence-
Support some of the measurement, reporting and analysis of performance which are key for the preparation of the business reviews (monthly, quarterly, mid year).
Performance management-
Solve low complexity problems with small supervision and support the solution of more complex topics. Be hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.
Stakeholder management-
Effectively collaborate with various teams, departments, and stakeholders.
Role Qualifications and Requirements:
Craft skills - basic process management and problem solving skills including experience with project / change management approaches and phases. Preferably having a solid data and insights analytical skills, comfortable in facilitating effective governance and business as usual initiatives.
Have a basic business and good financial understanding, be able to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making.
Ability to identify challenges and opportunities and support the resolution of those.
Be able to effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds. Able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks. Able to influence management and small groups.
Strong interpersonal skills focused on collaboration. Building and maintain lasting relationships and connections with diverse teams, across the organization and outside.
Highly organized and structured in order to make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner.
