Content Writer (For independent contractors)
Job Summary:
The Content Writer is responsible for creating high volumes of travel content to feature on Booking.com’s website. The role continuously contributes to the delivery and performance of Booking.com’s content.
The Content Writer excels at time management and is used to writing to tight deadlines, skilfully balancing quantity with quality. Ever pragmatic, this role will write content to add business value, but contributes with a creative flair to inspire audiences globally. The Content Writer welcomes feedback and successfully manages relationships with editors.
The Content Writer focuses on everyday delivery of the best possible content to stakeholders across the organisation, reporting to the SEO team.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality content at scale and with flair.
Develop engaging content tailored for the US audience, focusing on the theme of Family Travel.
Produce mainly B2C content in line with detailed briefs, adhering to the Booking.com brand tone of voice and style guide.
Collaborate with stakeholders regarding projects and briefs.
Manage several projects at once, flex between briefs, styles and tones of voice.
Comfortable flexing writing style between variants of English – British English and American English.
Respond positively and constructively to feedback from editors, peers and stakeholders.
Research topics and article ideas for editorial and product-based content.
Report on progress and deliverables.
Requirements of special knowledge/skills:
A background in professional content writing, editing and proofreading, preferably within an e-commerce and B2C environment.
Expertise in the US travel market.
Experience writing for the Family Travel segment.
Experience of working at scale in a fast-paced environment.
A basic understanding of SEO principles and keyword research.
Able to maintain quality across high volumes of work with tight deadlines.
Flawless written English, with impeccable spelling, grammar and punctuation.
A meticulous approach, with a focus on accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
Proactive, able to work independently and prioritise effectively.
A confident and tactful communicator who builds strong relationships with stakeholders.
Proven ability to work well under pressure, and be capable of adapting and responding to changing situations.
Positive, adaptable and unflappable in the face of changing processes, tasks and tools.
