Booking.com is on a Finance transformation journey to support the delivery of the company strategy and the growth of the company. As part of this journey we are assessing how we can ensure that the Finance organisation is equipped to deliver its objectives in the long term.


The Finance Transformation manager will be part of the Finance Transformation Program within Booking.com and will support functional leadership in shaping the future of their department. A successful Finance Transformation Specialist will achieve this by applying experience in Finance Operating Model design and transition/implementation in a hands-on manner, specific to the needs of Booking.com, in close collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders. Your goal is to plan, coordinate, and drive the functional Finance Transformation (implementation) roadmap, while keeping the overall roadmap & success in sight. We seek a hands-on and strong stakeholder manager who will take full ownership for the deliverables within the functional Finance transformation scope.


The Finance Transformation manager will be responsible to support and oversee the implementation of various transitions within finance operations, with a focus on R2R, as well as supporting in the design of the R2R finance operating model.


Daily activities include (but not limited to):


  • Coordinate the end-to-end Finance Transformation activities /planning for the R2R workstream.

  • Own the plan for the functional finance transformation

  • Prepare leadership meetings for the respective functional tower

  • Track progress

  • Identify and mitigate risks, handle issues

  • Report to the overall finance transformation program management

  • Identify process or technology improvements as part of the roadmap.

Hands-on support in the detailed operating model design and build phase, e.g. through:

  • Facilitate of design and planning sessions

  • (Support in) documentation of detailed design

  • Creation of deliverables as per the overall program plan

  • Collection/interpretation of data

  • Preparation of templates and detailed plans

Stakeholder management and collaboration:

  • Work together with a wide group of stakeholders, such as the Global Process Owners, Functional Finance Leads, HR, Comms and Change specialists, global FT program management

  • Challenge each other on the design to improve the outcomes

  • Ensure consistency and alignment with other towers and workstreams

Transition Management:

  • Coordinate the transition of activities from the current organisation to the future

  • Coordinate between sending and receiving organisations

  • Prepare detailed transition plans for the knowledge transfer and parallel run

  • Create and use e.g. transition checklists and knowledge transfer methodologies and plans and track against plan

  • Ensure tracking of the delivery of enablers required for the future operating model (such as workflows, forms, access rights, process standardisation efforts)

  • Collaborate with comms and change workstream to design and deliver the communication and change elements required for the transition

  • Collaborate with HR to include the HR related activities within the transition plan




Examples of deliverables are:


  • Workstream project plan

  • Detailed Service Delivery Model and Process Placement up to activity level

  • Inventorisation of ‘enabling’ projects or work (e.g. grant access) that need to be delivered and clear tracking

  • Creation of future organisation design and job profiles

  • Change Impact Assessments

  • KPI/ performance management tracking

  • Coordination of transition relevant governance meetings and related stage gate deliverables such as:


- Work-shadow checklists

- Readiness checklists and tracking

- Implementation of functional KPIs, SLAs, governance, etc

- Communication plan and messages

- Stage gate decision preparation


Requirements:

  • Masters degree

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience

  • Successful track record of finance operating model design and implementation projects in multinational companies.

  • Excellent understanding of processes and best practice in the area of Record-to-report.

  • Transition Management experience.
