Please note, this is a 12-month assignment for freelancers, 2 days per week office presence is required.


The Transformation Program Office is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with demonstrated experience leading large complex projects; assessing business needs, developing the implementation strategy and leading end-to-end project management activities.



The Transformation Program Office is a dedicated team driving transformative projects to enable Booking.com's strategic vision. They are tasked with establishing robust governance, tracking project value, and managing change and communication. Moreover, they are instrumental in uncovering and enabling additional efficiency opportunities across departments and empowering them to achieve the overarching objectives of the program. Through relentless coordination and communication, the FFPO ensures seamless implementation and continuous improvement in meeting the programs overarching objectives.


The role involves working with senior stakeholders and various teams across Booking.com to ensure the successful execution of initiatives, from requirements gathering to final implementation and support. They drive alignment with Booking's goals and the Transformation Program, manage risks and dependencies, and facilitate an agile development environment while adapting to new tools and technologies.



Key Responsibilities


  • Craft Methodology and Standards: Apply structured methodology to lead project/change management activities.


  • E2E Project Management: Lead independently End-to-end (E2E) high complexity topics from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation. Drive large business projects that bring significant value to the business.


  • Project Initiation and Planning: Drives the project scoping and planning working with different teams and creating associated documentation.


  • Brings clarity to sponsor, teams and stakeholders by defining and documenting program objectives, requirements and success criteria, KPIs, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and in general program deliverables.


  • Project Implementation and Completion: Drive project (s) plan execution, ensuring project objectives are met on agreed timelines.


  • Track and report progress. Ensure a project closing and correct handover to Business as usual.


  • Project Governance: Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making


  • Maintain project management frameworks & templates and follow up if needed with any improvement feedback.


  • Delivery/Impact: Drive the progress and successful delivery of initiatives that bring significant value to the business. They are the driving force that collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that teams deliver significant change to the business covering the full scope, on agreed timelines and budget (where applicable).


  • Stakeholder Management: Primary point of contact for the Project(s) related queries. Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director level.


  • Success Metrics: Define and measure the success metrics of the Project(s)/Workstreams in scope.


  • Facilitator: Lead independently workshops to support the delivery of the Project(s).



Knowledge and Skills


  • Bachelor Degree


  • 5-8 years relevant experience


  • Strong Project Management Experience. Preferably having a background in Agile Project Management


  • PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.


  • With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making


  • Familiar with change management approaches; good understanding of the change curve and process


  • Communication of the project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders


  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders. Ability to work effectively and influence up to Senior Managers and DIrector Level


  • Highly organized and structured and make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner.


  • Be able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams to achieve organizational goals. They also should be able to influence and steer senior management and groups. Challenge assumptions and ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas


  • Flexibility and the ability to function well within ambiguity and in a constantly changing environment.


  • Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision. They are able to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy to understand solutions. They are hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.


  • Sr Project Managers make sure the project's outcomes are in line with customer needs and/or expectations
